“The LEI team served as key strategic advisors and facilitators for the ETCC Leadership Team in developing its formal organizational structure and membership policies, with the purpose of improving the Council’s operational effectiveness.”Aaron Panzer, Head of Customer Success, Redaptive, Inc; former PG&E Principal, Emerging Technologies

A key part of managing technology introduction is communicating and engaging with influential stakeholders. LEI offered tailored management and facilitation services for DSM innovation programs based on our extensive experience with recruiting and guiding working groups and advisory committees, communication and outreach planning and delivery, and management of meetings and conferences.

LEI helped organize, convene and facilitate:

  • Technology introduction working groups and professional associations
  • Charrettes (multi-disciplinary brainstorming workshops) that bring together expert teams to generate breakthrough ideas in DSM business and technology
  • Research, development and deployment road-mapping sessions
  • Advanced energy technology symposia and conferences

Case Study: Emerging Technologies Coordination Council

The Emerging Technologies Coordinating Council (ETCC) selected LEI for comprehensive strategic and operational support to advance their goals of deepening stakeholder engagement and promoting effective and efficient ETCC member coordination.

LEI provided the ETCC with ongoing organizational strategy and governance assistance as well as planning and coordinating events and meetings, communication and outreach, audience development, branding and partnerships.

Building on a series of interviews and workshops led by LEI, the ETCC Leadership Team reached a consensus to maintain its status as a collaborative working group instead of pursuing incorporation, created its charter and bylaws and established its Advisory Council, which met for the first time in 2014.

LEI’s operational support significantly boosted ETCC meeting attendance, attendee diversity and the number of ETCC subscribers. In 2014 alone, the ETCC subscriber database grew by 45 percent and ETCC website traffic increased by 20 percent.

“The LEI team served as key strategic advisors and facilitators for the ETCC Leadership Team in developing its formal organizational structure and membership policies, with the purpose of improving the Council’s operational effectiveness. LEI helped the Council to enhance its communication and outreach planning and execution, and launched an ongoing process to boost the quality and attendance at ETCC events, including the biennial ET Summit conference.

At the same time, LEI team’s positive, can-do attitude brought out an unprecedented level of trust and innovative thinking among the ETCC membership.”
